Far right comic strips

In 1923, after the March on Rome (October '22), Il Giornale dei Balilla was created in Milan. On these pages came to life numerous characters from comic strips such as the Balilla Ravanello, an avid reader of books which aimed to inspire the young fascists not to remain in ignorance and to read or Rumolino and Remoletto, that exalted the myth of the Roman Empire one of the pillars of the fascist ideology and heritage of the Aryan Italian. These characters had common characteristics: they all presented themselves as daring and indomitable; they reflected the perfect Italian fascist.

Comic strips are still used to spread propaganda and antisemitism among youth; they are way less sophisticated than in the past but still a danger…
